Michael Dusche studied philosophy and linguistics at the universities of Tuebingen, Konstanz, and SUNY, Stony Brook. He did the research towards his PhD as a fellow of the German Research Foundation (DFG) at the Interdepartmental Centre for Ethics in the Sciences and Humanities at the University of Tuebingen.

In 1999, he received his PhD from Goethe University, Frankfurt am Main, with a dissertation on Ethics in International Politics. His guides were Axel Honneth and Barbara Merker.

From 2000-2005, Michael Dusche worked as an Assistant Professor and DAAD Lecturer at the Centre for German Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi.

From 2005 to 2009 he worked as post-doctoral researcher at the University of Erfurt, Germany

From 2009 to 2010, Michael Dusche is a Fellow at the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Advanced Study, JNU, New Delhi, India (www.jnu.ac.in/jnias).
